A LIMERICK food producer has scooped not one but three tasty gongs at the Blás na hÉireann Awards.
Tim’s Table bagged the three awards at the annual event which is designed to promote food producers in Ireland.
A gold award was presented to the Limerick producer for their Lavosh Crackers, and a bronze award was presented to the company for the Roasted Red Pepper Pesto, in addition to this the producer was awarded the overall award for the Best Producer in Limerick.
Seven years later Tim’s Table is now operating from SuperValu, Millstreet, Co. Cork as one of the businesses under Food Academy, a business development program for start-ups and newly established food and drink producers spearheaded by SuperValu and Local Enterprise Office founded by Tim and Zara Harris.
The 2024 Blás na hÉireann awards proved to be another good year for SuperValu’s food producers according to the Managing Director of SuperValu Luke Hanlon.
“ SuperValu has again had a fantastic year for Irish producers at the Blas na hÉireann awards with Irish suppliers being awarded not only on quality but also range and variety,” he said.
‘This year the Irish producers of SuperValu brought home 102 awards, of which 64 awards went to the Food Academy producers.”
This innovation most often involves supporting Irish food producers with their primary interests at SuperValu making it exciting to see SuperValu producers getting the recognition they need, opined Mr Hanlon.
Currently in its 17th year, the Blás na hÉireann Awards celebrates some of Ireland’s leading food and drinks entrepreneurs.
