In a packed home arena, the men’s team secured a hard-fought win against reigning champions, edging out their opponents with a final score of 78-72. The game was a rollercoaster of emotions, with Limerick’s players showcasing exceptional teamwork and resilience. Point guard Liam O’Connor emerged as the standout player, scoring 24 points and earning a crucial three-pointer in the last two minutes to seal the win.
Meanwhile, the Limerick women’s team demonstrated similar prowess, dominating their match with a commanding performance against Dublin Titans. With a final score of 84-67, the women’s team not only clinched their semi-final spot but also solidified their reputation as strong contenders for the championship title. After the play, the coaches for both teams complimented the effort that their players put in as well as the support they received from the fans from Limerick. ‘It is a win not only for our teams but for everyone down here.’ We are prepared for the next adventure,” said the men’s head coach Conor Walsh.
