Apps That Cannot Go Without Machine Learning

Our lives are constantly influenced by machine learning, whether we realize it or not. From completing a captcha, using Siri, talking to an online customer service rep, or browsing Netflix recommendations, Machine Learning is everywhere.

But what exactly is machine learning? In its simplest form, machine learning is the process by which computers learn and adapt on their own. A machine learning algorithm allows AI to learn without explicitly being programmed to do so. These algorithms use sample inputs to learn patterns instead of predefined program instructions for predicting and performing tasks.

There are several situations in which using strict algorithms cannot be accomplished. Machine learning can be a lifesaver in these cases. As it learns new patterns from previous ones, it will execute the new process. Machine learning algorithms are also used by several e-commerce businesses in conjunction with other IT security tools to prevent fraud and improve their recommendation engines.

The task of a Machine Learning Engineer is to create the computer systems that allow software to function behind the scenes. The world is awash in real-world applications of machine learning. Having that said, here are a few application we have compiled for you.

Do make sure that you have a high-speed internet like Spectrum to get these apps running. Contact Spectrum servicio al cliente today and get it installed before you waste your time and energy on a sloppy connection.

Snapchat

We all know how this app works. With Snapchat, users can apply lenses to their faces via machine learning. To detect features on a user’s face, the algorithm employs Haar features and Active Shape Models. Lenses are then applied to the lenses using these. By analyzing user data, machine learning can allow publishers to determine which content a specific user enjoys the most, as well as gain a better understanding of what content appeals to them.

Now the question is what is how do these filters work? Because Snapchat’s filters are constantly evolving, there isn’t a definitive answer to this question. According to general consensus, the filters work by recognizing certain features on a person’s face using facial recognition software and artificial intelligence (AI). The AI then alters the image according to these features, creating the filter effect.

Migraine Buddy

You might not have heard about this one. This app, as the name suggests, helps users manage their headaches and migraines. More than 3 million people use it to track headaches and migraines. In addition to tracking attacks, managing symptoms, and finding triggers, the app offers reports designed by specialists.

The platform also features specialized weather analysis, a chat group, and the ability to record attacks according to a user’s preference. For advanced features and specialized coaching plans, users can upgrade to MBplus, which is free for everyone.

Oval Money

This one has to be our absolute favorite. The app makes saving easier, especially for people who don’t have good financial habits. Oval Money comes in a clean, white and green design that combines spending analysis, savings, and investing. The most fun way to save money is by posting on Facebook or buying a burger, which you can do if you want it to do it for you. It holds two licenses from the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority): one for electronic money transactions and one for investment activities.

There’s no guarantee that your savings are protected since the FSCS (Financial Services Compensation Scheme) only covers deposits of up to £85,000. Additionally, it’s not allowed to give investment advice – only to work as a platform for investing. In short, Oval is a secure, but not as secure as a bank with a license.

LeafSnap

This app is free and only available on Apple App Store. What exactly is this app used for? Well, with LeafSnap, you can access a huge plant database that continuously learns and adds information about new species. There is a browse section with images of the leaves as well as common and scientific names. Plant identification is, however, limited to certain locations. Washington D.C., Canada, New York, and the Northeast US are among the locations LeafSnap offers. LeafSnap is great for identifying trees and plants when hiking or the next time your son comes with a science project!

That is all for this post. We are in for a great ride as machine learning takes the world by storm. Let’s look forward to more wonderful developments in the future.
